What To Expect From Fashion In 2014

Yeah yeah so fashion is a big thing. Did you know that? No? Well then where have you been?

2013 has shown many fashion trends. Some quite nice: i.e. pastel coloured coats for example. Some not so nice and some that are so horrendous you want to bludgeon yourself in the head: i.e. wedge trainers. We’ll be covering vile fashion trends of the past year in an upcoming post, so keep an eye out if you want a chuckle.

Anyway, so what are the big trends in 2014 you ask? Well you fashionista devils you, here are our favourite collections and trends for Spring and Summer 2014:

Pastel Colours

A trend which we’re pretty sure comes around every single Spring and Summer… Anyway get ready to pop that lilac jacket on and resemble a Parma Violet. At least you’ll be in the fashion know how.

Logos

Capitalism at it’s finest. Logos are set to be a big hit next year. Why not cut up your Topshop or Marks & Spencer’s bag and staple it to a Primark t-shirt? A way to advertise your favourite shop whilst looking fabulous darling.

Orla Kiely S/S 14

If you’ve always wanted to be in a Wes Anderson movie then look no further. Orla Kiely’s Spring and Summer collection will give you that opportunity. Don your binoculars and colourful beret and pretend to be Suzie Bishop. All the outfits in this collection are pretty elegant but are combined with socks and sandals. Yes, we know. The words socks and sandals in the same sentence made us wince a bit as well…

Metallics

Shiny silver and gold everything is good for 2014 apparently. Depending on what material you wear this could look quite nice. However, metallic satin might make you resemble a chocolate in wrapping or another version of Bender from Futurama… But hey, you might make a good Bender at least.

So there we go. These are just some of the “key” trends for 2014. Don’t just take our word for it though, we aren’t the experts. If you want to know more about “what’s hot” for 2014 visit Vogue or something.
