Now, I know in Lincoln you’ll probably be spoilt for choice when it comes to looking for a cafe or tea room. If you think Lincoln is running short on this type of place then seriously, you must love a hot beverage.
If you like tea rooms and pastel colours, this might just be up your street. Or hill.
If you’re brave enough to tackle Steep Hill, you’ll find that one of the original buildings lining the cobbled streets, houses this adorable place. It’s the beautiful black and white one with the fancy windows and cute little door to be precise.
Bells’ Tea and Coffee House incorporates all the cute pastel trends for interior design that’s been rather big for the last couple of years (you know, all them polka dots, cupcakes and floral patterns that have been almost everywhere). The little lilac door lets you into this compact tea room, combining original features with dark wood tables.
Polka dot table cloths cover each table, which is topped with a small vase of flowers and cute pots with pictures of cupcakes on containing sachets of sugar. The walls are plain, with heart shaped pictures and other wall decorations that add to the cosy atmosphere.
All the food and cakes are all homemade, or tea room made, as they’re actually made on site. The cakes and scones are beautiful in both taste and appearance. The jams are all local too, even better, who doesn’t love a bit of local produce.
For the tea enthusiasts of Lincoln, there are numerous special flavours and types, including traditional for those who just want a good cuppa. If you’re more of a coffee person, there’s plenty of choice for you as well. Hot chocolate and coffee can also be flavoured, what a great way to make the drinks even better. If you fancy giving your coffee or chocolate a bit of a kick, you can even add Baileys (Baileys is for life, not just for Christmas).
If all this sounds good to you, don’t forget to nip to the cash machine on your way there, as there’s a minimum spend of £10 if you want to pay on card. We really are good to you, with all this advanced warning and stuff.
