For seven weeks now, Lincoln’s infamous train barriers have been going down a bit more often than normal. Six extra trains an hour were diverted through the city, to be exact.
The diversions happened on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings from mid-September.
This was probably due to the high demand of people desperate to chill at the barriers.
But from this Saturday, much less chilling will be had.
That’s because these extra trains will no longer be sent through Lincoln. This means that while freight trains and those one carriage ones that go to Sheffield and stuff will continue to pass through the city, a sense of normality for Lincoln will once more be achieved.
But how did these extra delays affect the people of Lincoln? One local resident simply commented by saying he passed his time at the barriers by “moaning about them,” whilst another one went all deep, saying she “Looks around and thinks about things.”
