What To Do At The Train Barriers

Imagine… you’re on a mission to get to that 9am that you’ve quite frankly been dreading. The mission is not easy, though, for a regular foe is in your way once more.

The train barriers.

But one is not simply bored whilst standing at the un-crossable barrier.

Here’s a few things you could, in theory, get up to whilst waiting for that freight to pass.

You could just stand there, waiting, staring out the train whilst it passes. This is a bit boring, though, isn’t it?

There’s also the option of counting the carriages, if you’re into that kind of thing.

You could be a bit more inventive and check all those social networks you’re on; having a whinge about those dreaded barriers will kill plenty of time!

Planning your tea is another option. Drifting off into a foody daydream is the perfect distraction.

One reader even commented saying they pass the time by “thinking about how I should have ran to get across in time.”

Failing all of these, you could even go a bit old school and play a game of tag, or duck duck goose? (There are plenty of them around, after all.) You could even line up in teams  at either side of the road and play a quick game of dodge ball (that could be a tad dangerous though, we did warn you against it.)
