What to Expect: Liquor Open Mic Night

If you’re a regular here, you’ll have noticed our review of Lincoln’s most popular venue, Liquor Bar (yes, we’ve never heard of it either.)

A delicately dark and slightly fusty venue, it initially felt like being in a cave ( a cave that smelled of a village hall or something, we might add.)

But it soon became clear why it might be wise to start a new open mic night here; the acoustics were great (as they would probably be in a cave, but we’ll ignore that for now.)

One thing that is very special about the Lincoln is how talented its singers seem to be.  You can go to any singing event, and the voices will raise the roof. It’s safe to say everyone singing here was great, too.

This week saw a variety of acts, with highlights being a girl who sang Songbird and another who sang a wonderful rendition of Beyonce’s Halo.

There’s also a nice variety of very cheap drinks offers (including £1 Carling,) so if you just want a chilled night and a couple of beers, then it’s perfect. If you’re looking for a slightly wilder night out, though, you may be better off starting your night downstairs in Trebles.

The event happens every Monday night in Liquor Bar at 9pm, lasting till about 11.
