One of the films we told you to you watch in 2014 was American Hustle. What a better way than to review a movie we mentioned. Has American Hustle, hustled its way into winning any awards? Well just carry on reading.

American Hustle stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner. In other words Batman, the fit one from the Hangover films, Lois Lane, Katniss and Hawkeye…wonder how that would go down in a film? Maybe celebrity deathmatch should host something like this for us?

Anyways back to the film, without giving too much of the plot away, the film is 2 hours 18 minutes long. Our recommendation is to have a tactical wee just before the film then you don’t have to be that ‘guy’ that gets up in the middle of the film and blocks everyone’s view while trying to go to the toilet.

Is American Hustle worth it? Depends.  We all love a good film and a good film needs great performances from the actors and an excellent storyline.

Well, the film established all the characters very well but the storyline lacked substance. The ending felt a little too rushed as everything just seemed to simply resolve itself. The film begins with Bale’s and Adam’s character narrating the story which is perfect for character development. The film had a strong beginning but it let itself down in the middle and at the end.

Also David O. Russell (producer and writer) if you read this why didn’t you finish the fishing story!?  What happened to his brother!? (If you read this David please leave a comment below for us. Some of us need to know).

Will the film win any film awards? Not for the plot  as it was too predictable. On the other hand the acting was very strong and could possibly win an award for the film.

We’d suggest wait till it comes out on DVD but if you’re desperate to see the kiss between Adams and Lawrence, Cooper’s perm and Bale’s comb over then go and see it using an Orange Wednesday Code.
