What To Expect From Steep Hill…Part 1

It’s a pretty well known fact that Lincoln’s award winning Steep Hill is actually completely flat.

And if you believe that, you’ve clearly never been to Lincoln. Steep Hill is actually very, very steep.

Luckily for you, there are lots of stop-offs along the way to make the climb that bit easier. You could also motivate yourself with this Miley classic…

At the bottom of your venture, you’ll be faced with several boutiquey shops like Yak and Ego, which sell a mixture of vintage clothes. Ego also has an upstairs area full of bizarre wigs, hats and other objects (which can make for a very fun dressing up sesh…)

If you’re already tired, you can get a sugar fix from Goodies – a really cute sweet shop that sells loads of old classics. This includes a personal favourite of ours here at L&T, sugar mice. Mmm, mmmice. It even comes with some adorable old style weighing scales. Wow.

Once you’ve finished donning wigs and buying sweets, you’ll be faced with a spiritual shop bursting with dream catchers and birth stones and stuff. It’s all very mystical and the ever burning incense in there makes it smell a bit like a granny’s bedroom.  This is like some kind of heaven for us (the smell, not the grandma’s bedroom…) And if like us you’re trying to be old and horrendously single, they also sell lucky cats to complete the mad cat person image.

Bunty’s team room is next – it’s a lovely little cafe which sells lots of teas and cakes, some of which look mouthwateringly good. There are also fudge, wine and cheese shops. Perfect if you’re looking to have a cheese board and wine picnic half way up!

Part 2 will be hitting screens next week, but in the meantime, how about that picnic?!
