Hearts, flowers and far too many soppy couples are set to take over Lincoln this weekend.
Why?
For Valentine’s Day, of course.
And if the pure thought of seeing every hot man ever clutching his other half, and such a thing means you’re now thoroughly holding back the sick (I definitely am), then worry not. For Valentine’s Day is also Singles Awareness Day!
It’s designed for all us singletons out there just to remind us how horrendously single we are (how LOVELY).
Here are some tips of how you could embrace your singleness this February 14th.
- Give yourself a gift – if you’re anything like us here at Lincoln & That, you’re probably very skint. You might not even know what money is. So what better excuse to treat yourself than Valentine’s (and it’d be so rude not to check out the new River Island…)
- Cinema it up– Friends are for life, not just for cuddles. Hit up the Odeon and enjoy Zac Efron in all his naked glory. It’ll be 100% better than the land of sloppy mush outside.
- Go and see a play – If you’re feeling really wild this weekend, take your sweet self to the Terry O’Toole theatre in North Hykeham. There’s a puppet play about toys that come to life (it sounds NOTHING like Toy Story).
- Have a romantic meal – Share some food and be all cute with your friends. You’ll only have to pay for yourself, too. WIN.
- Go out – Even The Superbull is Valentine’s themed this year. Get drunk and enjoy being single.
- Buy a cat – Yes. You’re probably going to become a mad cat person at some point, so why not start early? Plus, the new Pets at Home opens on March 1 and there you’ll be able to get little Fluffy all groomed and cute (aaaah).
So now you can celebrate Singles Awareness Day in style. Have fun!
