The Staff Are Nice In Tesco

I don’t like shopping at Tesco, but I do like the staff who work there.

This is mainly a principle thing, I don’t like buying products from a store that manipulates the democratic process.

But, the staff in the Tesco on the High Street near the pedestrian crossing, opposite Eqvvs (that weird clothing store with dog’s heads on the mannequins, which are actually quite creepy) are really really nice.

Well, if you count ‘nice’ as ‘bullying customers’.

Yes, I have been abused in this store.

Once, after completing a rather large weekly shop (look, I know Tesco Express is not the place to do a large shop, but I was very hungry, and desperate, hence why I was shopping at Tesco in the first place) I tiredly handed over my basket to the counter, brimming with goods.

What was the response from the store assistant?

Do you want to know?

He said: “it’s people like you I hate”.

Then there was a flash of sarcasm in his eyes and I realised that him and I could be good friends.

It’s not just him, the others have also had a pretty good sense of humour when I’ve apologised about having an entire basket of reduced items which had to be cleared at the checkout individually.

They’re not quite as good as the Marks & Spencer lady who I once had to apologise to for lunging at the reductions like a scavenging crow as soon as she was marking the discounts on the produce. She found it hilarious and said she could tell I was a student.

Ahhh, student life.

For reference, Marks and Spencer on the High Street discounts their food every day at 4:30, well worth a look. Fridays are best for offers.
